What Are You Creating This Week?

It's all about you this week!  I want you to tell me what you're working on, even if it isn't part of the "23 in '13" Challenge.  So...

What are you creating this week?

Are you writing short stories or songs?  Are you painting landscapes or drawing comics?  Are you blogging or podcasting?  I want to know!

Tell me what you're creating by replying in the comments below.

Have a great week!
John Anealio

BTW: The fantastic artwork above is by the amazing Natalie Metzger.

  1. I'm polishing the first book in a ten book series, which is the middle series of a trilogy of series, which when completed will be a thirty book epic saga.

  2. I was going to write an article in order to apply for an internship at New Scientist magazine, but then I decided to just appoint myself their unofficial contributing troubadour instead, so I'm writing a poem about neutron stars.

  3. A big fat, so far 10K word, looking for around 20K short story/novella that will eventually end up in a shared world anthology. Thinking about watching the Batman Trilogy, again, too...

  8. It's White Knuckle Sunday, so I had to write a sermon for this morning. Mostly, though, I'm watching all the things bloom and waving away clouds of pollen. ;-)

  9. Working on a pile of edits to some scenes I'm just not happy with. I DID finish chapter 6 (my 7th entry) in the the Backing into Eden blog, which is my 23 in 13 challenge (to write 23 essays). Have a lovely Sunday, all! http://www.brenda-cooper.com/2013/04/11/backing-into-eden-chapter-6-what-we-know-about-the-animals/

  10. Starting my second book trailer for www.PKbooksInc.com. The first one turned out ok; hoping this next one is even better!

    1. The first video is great Erin! Really good work on that. Who did the music in it?

    2. The first acoustic riff was just from a free to use site, and the last part can be credited to Beethoven. Still keeping you in mind for the future!

  11. Working on finishing up the editing for the new edition of my short-story collection. I just have four stories left; unfortunately two of them are the most complex stories in the book. I'm hoping to finish before the end of the week. After that I plan to build a bunch of new jewelry in preparation for the convention I'm vending at, the first weekend in May.

  12. Well, first, I need to get the taxes out of the way . . .

Then there's an index I'm creating for my day job, a completed short story I need to edit before sending it off to a new market, a couple of other short stories I'm making slow progress on -- and just maybe, some work on a novel (which I'm making even slower progress on).

  13. I made some Film Noir orchestralectro:

  14. This week I have a fourth short story ready for submission. (I'm sending it to Drabblecast first.) That will make ten submissions for the year, putting me about six weeks ahead of schedule for 23 submissions this year! If this keeps up I may have to double it to 46...

  15. Keeping up with my 500+ words a day writing: a supervillain argues with his dead mother, the lives of a bunch of terraformers who are annoyed with their boss, some short-short stories, and a girl hallucinates a divine zebra-striped baboon. You know, stuff like that.

  16. I'm writing a short novella, to be the final story in an anthology of gay erotic short stories about a vampire hunter and his lover in a post apocalyptic future.

  18. So, I'm re-creating Mozart and Bach on the weekend. I need to create the voice to do it :-) - allergies are slaying me lately.

Also, have to write a blog post for Amazing Stories, which involves actually finishing reading a poetry anthology.

    1. Good luck Diane! I hope your allergies abate so you can be at your best.

  20. Chugging along with the same-old... But also participating in the MOOC: Gender Through Comic Books course. We just started Week 3 today. Fascinating stuff, and more thorough than I expected, lots of comic books to read, interviews (Mark Waid was last week, Gail Simone is coming up) (it's my first experience with this kind of course)... And week have to come up with a short comic at the end - wracking my brains to pick an idea...

    1. That sounds great Ingrid! Do you know Carrie Cuinn? I think the two of you would have a lot in common. She runs Dagan books and is very into comics. I'll introduce the two of you through Twitter.

    2. Thanks for the intro, John! Carrie seems to be a very interesting person - I think I've read one or two of her articles on comics on the SF blog, could that be?

    3. Yep. She writes an indie comics column for SFSignal.

  21. I just finished a flash piece for Chuck Wendig's flash fiction challenge from last Friday. http://terribleminds.com/ramble/2013/04/12/flash-fiction-challenge-choose-your-opening-line/

It still needs some polishing before I post it, though.

I must, must, must make time to do some more writing on my longer pieces.

  22. Working on short story I hope to sell. I also have a bit of flash fic going up on the 19th, and one of the anthologies I have a short in is being released the 22nd. Busy as usual.
