I just finished my 4th instrumental piece for the "23 in '13" challenge.  It's a simple, fingerstyle acoustic guitar piece.  It's called "Echoes of Espers."

  1. Great song, John. That will go into my collection

I submitted story on Monday, had it rejected on Friday. Got another rejection of Friday from a story I submitted two weeks ago. that was a downer of a day.

Did some work on my novel WIP. Chewing on some ideas for a couple of other stories.

    1. Thanks Paul. Glad you like the new tune. Sorry to hear about the rejections, but from what I understand from all of my author friends, rejection is a big part of the process. Keep it up.

  2. Can't wait to give this tune a listen!

Well, I used a piece I had previously painted, and tried putting a book cover together. An instruction manual, of sorts. Goes with the novel world I created. It shows I need to learn a bit more before trying actual covers, but it was fun to do.

  3. I absolutely love your acoustic pieces!

I wrote a short story this week, my first after two years of novel writing. It was refreshing to jump into a new world!

  4. I've already played this one three times. I especially like the bridge.

I've been able to make two submissions in the last couple of weeks, and finished my first piece of flash fiction (after discovering there's more of a market for it than I thought). By 1 March, I'll have at least three pieces making the submissions rounds (thanks to The Submissions Grinder at http://thegrinder.diabolicalplots.com/Default.aspx)!

  5. I love the traditional feel to the melody.

New gear means new idea...I got an old hardware sampler and spent last week wrapping my brain around it, culminating in this song :)

    1. Thanks man!

You are a braver man than I, dealing with a hardware sampler. :-) I have enough trouble sampling with software.

Listening to this piece now and it sounds great! Are all of the sounds from the sampler? I especially like the spoken word bits.
