Remix: Sarene (inspired by Elantris)
Here's a cool remix of my song "Sarene ". The lyrics of "Sarene " are based on Elantris, a great novel by Brandon Sanderson. This remix was created by Briareus , a remixer who posts his material over at ccMixter .
This remix is quite interesting. Briareus pitch shifted my vocals into oblivion, the melody is completely different than the original. The backing track is moody and very musical.

Summer Glau: "The Remix: Part 3"
Here is a really cool remix of my song "Summer Glau" This remix was created by teru , a great remix artist who posts his material over at ccMixter.
"Summer Glau" is my most remixed song. This is one of the most creative and musical versions of the tune. teru really has a great ear for combining various sources into a interesting and cohesive whole. Check out a mash-up that he created using my song "Rachel Rosen ". This Mash-up/remix also uses tracks from Nurykabe and DoKashiteru.
Check out more of teru's music here.

Lyricist Wanted
One of my musical friends and I decided to start a recording side project as a duo. We plan to get together every few weeks and knock out a song in an afternoon's worth of work. One thing that would make this project more efficient would be to start with some pre-written lyrics.
I take great pride in writing my own lyrics and it is a process that I really enjoy. However, it is the most time intensive part of running Sci-Fi Songs. I plan on continuing to write my own lyrics for my monthly Sci-Fi Song, but for this side project, I'd love to have a lyrical collaborator or two.
I know that many of you are creators in your own right; you are novelists, short story writers, editors, podcasters, blog authors, and songwriters. Would any of you like to contribute some lyrics to this project? It could be a lot of fun. They don't necessarily have to be Sci-Fi or Fantasy based, but that would certainly be a plus.

Hope to hear from some of you,

Sci-Fi Song #16: Mr. Roboto (Styx Cover)

Sci-Fi Song #16 is a cover of Mr. Roboto by Styx. It is really more of a re-imagining rather than a cover. Basically, I took the lyrics of Mr. Roboto and wrote a completely different melody and chord progression.
This song was inspired by Ray and all of his readers at the Cover Me blog . I was their March Cover Commissions Artist and this was the song that they chose in a poll of different Sci-Fi themed cover songs.
I had a great time putting this together and I hope you enjoy it.
